1st
– 6th Grades:
The program will run from September 29th – November 13th.
Coaches are needed for all grade levels. Practice times and dates
will be determined once the coaches are in place. Registration will
be ongoing starting September 1st. Registration forms will be taken
to the schools or can be picked up at the Rec Office. Fee are
$20 for grades 1st – 4th and $25 for grades 5th
& 6th
ELKS
HOOP SHOOT
The Local Hoop
Shoot is scheduled for Thursday, December 4th at the
Wahpeton Middle School at 7:00 pm for Wahpeton girls and boys
basketball players, age 8-9, 10-11 & 12-13. The District Hoop will
be held Saturday, December 13th at the Wahpeton Middle
School at 9 AM, with age champions (girls and boys) advancing to the
State Finals in Jamestown on Saturday, January 17th.
PRAIRIE
ROSE SHOOT OUT
The
Prairie Rose State Games Basketball Shoot-out will be held on
Thursday, April 16th at 6:30PM at the Wahpeton Community Center.
The
competition features male & female divisions in six age divisions:
grades 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10. Shooters get one minute to score as many
points as they can from marked spots on the court. Winners at each
Shoot-out qualifier advance to the Prairie Rose Shoot-out Finals
competition.
The
entry fee is $2 per one-minute attempt. Shooters register on-site
and are allowed a maximum of three entries at any one competition
and may not compete at more than one PRSG Shoot-out site in the
state.
Prairie
Rose State Games is North Dakota’s largest multi-sport festival.
Patterned after the Olympics Games, PRSG made its debut in 1987. To
date, more than 80,000 North Dakotans have participated.
